The project will be established as a nonprofit & non government foundation under the low of the country.

The project from now on known as cancer care Ethiopia (CCE). CCE is intended to give extremely poor & inadequate provision of the non communicable diseases is among the major causes of illnesses & death. In Ethiopia Hospital records show that there are more than 200,000 cancer cases per year where cervical & breast cancers are the top two cancer types.

Despite these facts Cancer is the most neglected & least proioritized health issue in Ethiopia. The patients are practically the most underserved part of the community in the country. There is no national cancer control program & cancer institution. Cancer diagnosis, treatment facilities & trained specialist are in acute shortage where Tikur Anbessa Hospital with a lot of limitation in a single cancer center in the country. Large numbers of cancer patients all over the country are referred to Addis Ababa which makes the average waiting time for cancer patients about one year. Since cancer patients need continuous follow ups at the Hospital they have to travel long distance for many times & are forced to stay long in Addis Ababa while they don’t have places to stay during their treatments.

To stay in hotel is both unaffordable & inconvenient for such patients. Consequently many patients prefer to discontinue their treatments, go back home and die.

CCE is aimed to establish a Cancer home which will provide basic care service for cancer patients referred from all over the country to Addis Ababa Black lion Hospital. After treatment cancer patients loses their weight and immune //// is weakened due to medicine character and can be easily infected by any contigeous deseases. CCE foundation will provide a rehabilitation center called Cancer Home for poor patients and their relatives while they stay in Addis. The foundation to be established will provide the patients and their relatives with basic services including proper places of rest, bedroom and related facilities, feeding and transportation from the cancer home to the hospital.
